    Hello all!

I have Acer Predator Helios 300 i7 8th gen with Nvidia GTX 1050Ti and yes I have been facing the overheating issue since a very long time and yes, overheating definitely degrades the life of the system!

If nothing else works for you, try what I have done:-

Go to Control Panel -> Power Options -> Change Plan Settings (of your current plan) -> Change advanced power settings.
In the Dialogue Box, Navigate to Processor power Management -> Maximum processor state.
There, keep the values anything below 100% (I kept 90% On battery and 99% for Plugged in).

    Reason:-
By default the CPU is set to be running at maximum speed with overclocking (in my case, about 4 GHz).
The Higher the speed, the more current will the cores draw leading to more heating and also more power consumption leading to more battery drain!
By doing the above steps, you are basically limiting to maximum CPU speed to a value less than base speed of the CPU (2.2 GHz in my case)

    Drawbacks:-
Of course by limiting your maximum CPU speed, you will not be able to enjoy the higher overclockable speeds unless you change back to default settings.
So, you MAY notice slower speeds at some heavy processing tasks :(
But still 2.2 GHz (for my case,) is more than enough for most of the things!

Note - In my case, the overheating started as soon as I plugged in even I was not using anything!
Also, I have tried almost all other methods (Thermal Repasting, Fan Cleaning, Undervolting, Throttle Stop, etc...) to solve the issue previously but nothing worked.
So, you may give it a shot and see if it works for you too.

P.S - Now my temps stay below 80 C (which is still high, but is far far less than 97-99 C :) ) even at the most intense tasks!
