Hi, I bought Aspire A515 52 57BY Jun-2019, now not under warranty, 3 days back it shutdown suddenly though it was working fine. Now only blue light shows, fan turns on for couple of seconds and stops, nothing happens further. I got it checked, repair service guy says motherboard gone faulty. Is this common problem for this model? Can it be a manufacturing defect? Acer is pointing me to Curry's from where I bought this and Curry's saying they will repair free of cost only if it's manufacturing defect

If it was mine, I'd probably ask Curry's service for an evaluation and repair estimate before proceeding. Curry's has a good reputation. It could be as simple as a battery reset switch or safety interlock switch if the mainboard is equipped with one. Jack E/NJ

Yes you might be right, curry's is evaluating now anyhow but my concern is, I saw 3-4 people posting same problem and I would like to know what is solution of this issue if they also found out that motherboard was faulty

If it's a mainboard safety switch, the fix might be as easy as taping a spacer to the inside of the bottom cover so that it presses harder against the switch. Jack E/NJ
