Hello there, I had purchased Acer Aspire 5 A551-51-8401 Series Intel Core i7-8550U 1.8GHz with Turbo Boost Laptop on April 2018. I rarely used and really took very much care on this laptop.
It suddenly broke down. The opening screen wasn't come up. I tried to contact Acer Canada ant as far as I could find a contact number I contacted that number. The number that I have called was in India a third party company and tried to persuade me that the laptop computer does not have a hardware issue but had a software issue. Despite I explained them over the phone there seems an hardware issue they convinced me to purchase the online help and they will solve the problem. I had given them my credit card number and they charged me about $360. Then I noticed that there is definitely a hardware issue so I could bring my laptop to a registered service.
Finally I contacted Acer again and they request me to send my laptop for repair for $585 since there is no warranty. I had a very bad experience during the registration process from the Acer Customer support service because when I gave them my credit card information someone tried to charge me $700K CAD which was unbelievable. Because I had an alert and warning for this transaction for this amount money was trying to take from my credit card account. I contacted with my bank and they told me that someone tried three times that amount ($701169.72 CAD) to charge my credit card.
After that I tried to contact Acer top management about this issue but I wasn't able to find even an email address to get in touch with someone in Acer. That is why I am writing my concern here.
Than you. Regards,
Serdar Tuncay
