I have purchased an acer predator helios 300 PH315-52 58AV 2019 model with 16gb RAM (8 on stock) and 1660 ti 6GB. Unfortunately It has a  60hz screen ,which I didn't notice on the time of buying. Now I would want to upgrade the screen to a 120hz or 144hz display. But, so far I've been told that it's not possible since screen is integrated with the motherboard. Some post in this communities says otherwise.  Can anyone say for sure if it can or cannot be done ? I play competitive esports,  144hz screen would give me an edge...

    Hi,
You can upgrade the panel but the method is slightly different from normal upgrade because the panel in this model is secured by double sided tapes, so you have to remove the old panel very carefully and you need to buy some additional parts, please watch the video in the link for similar model to familiarise with the procedure, you can pull the tape from top only in your model(see the picture).
    Cable for AUO panel(B156HAN08.2)-----50.Q5MN4.010
    Cable for BOE panel(NV156FHM-N4K)----50.Q5MN4.011
    Easy Tape----47.Q5MN4.005
These two panels  are compatible with your model:Panel Specification Compare - Panelook.com

This is helpful, but the nitro 5 had a 30 pin connector and the two you have suggested is a 40 pin. Is there any way to check my Lap's pin type . I wouldn't wanna buy the wrong screen. And also will my lap support a 144hz screen? I hope there won't be any issues after I replace the screen.
  • You are welcome, yes your model comes with 30pin panels and 40pin panels, so the connector on the motherboard is compatible with both types of cable, I have shown the video of Nitro 5 as an example for removing the Easy tape, two panels I have compared both are 144Hz but I can not guarantee about any issues because any upgrades you do on the laptop involves certain amount of risk, if you want a second opinion please contact Acer Support centre in your region or any local technician at a laptop repair shop near you before committing yourself for your peace of mind.
