Hello,

I'd like to treat myself to a higher resolution monitor for office work (MS office tools & MS Teams meeting) and general home use (internet browsing, Youtube, movies etc). I was thinking a 27-inch 2560x1440 QHD resolution monitor with a blue light filter, something like this - https://www.benq.eu/en-uk/monitor/designer/pd2700q.html

Perosnal laptop is ACER Swift 3 SF314-54, with display Intel(R)UHD Graphics 620. Outputs are HDMI and USB-C, although from reading other posts, I don't think the USB-C can output video.

Work laptop is a Dell Latitude 7400 with the same processor and display

Is it possible to use these laptops with a higher resolution QHD monitor? Or is it just better to stick with standard resolution. I've been reading other posts, but am still unclear. I really don't want to end up ordering a monitor online, only to find out I can't connect to it, and then try to return it.So would appreciate some clarity..

Cheers

Spec says: Maximum resolution HDMI: 3840 x 2160p, 30Hz. But if you want 60Hz you may be limited to 1920 x 1808p. It's a tough call as to whether 2560 x 1440p will work at 60Hz. A quick calc shows the maximum bandwidth at 3840x2160x30 is 248,832,000, 2560x1440x60 is 221,184,000 so it just might...
