I have two XB271HK's. One is clearly dimmer than the other.

I have two XB271HK monitors:

Monitor A: XB271HK Jun 2018, model # MMT4UAA00182502DF08501
Monitor B: XB271HK Jun 2019, model # MMT4UAA001925060BF8502

I have both monitors sitting side by side, and Monitor A is clearly dimmer. First, it's just obvious to the naked eye, verified by a second person. Second, there is an app called Miro, which has a grey grid on white background. On Monitor B, I can see the grid fine. On Monitor A, I couldn't.

So I shipped Monitor A to Acer, and they returned it, saying nothing was wrong with it. Curiously, I can now see the grey grid in Miro, but A is still noticeably dimmer than B. So it seems that Brightness is still broken but Contrast is maybe a little better?

I have tried all the obvious things: 1) reset to factory, 2) changed out all cords, 3) switched ports on video card, 4) uninstalled and reinstalled display drivers, 5) shipped to the manufacturer and no matter what I do, Monitor A is dimmer.

The only difference I can tell between the two models is that they were created in different years.

So questions I have:

* Has anyone else run into this problem? Am I going crazy? (possibly unrelated questions ;)
* Is there some kind of advanced calibration I can use to bring the brightness of A up so that it more closely manages B? I have tried to do it manually, but I just can't seem to land it. I know that visual artists sometimes use calibration tools, and I am astute enough I can give that a shot, if anyone thinks it is worth it.
