My Aspire 3 A315-54-32JP laptop won't turn on. No charging light, no power light, no booting up

When I went to bed, my laptop was working fine. When I woke up I used it for around two hours, and then the screen began to flash black every 15 seconds or so, but each time it happened it would stay black longer. So, I shut down my laptop thinking that would fix it, but when I went to turn it back on the fan would start and it would stay on a black screen. I powered it off, tried to turn it on a couple more times and had the same result, so I decided to leave it alone for a couple hours. When I tried it again it loaded to the login screen, but after a few seconds it shut down again and now it won't turn on at all. If I plug the charger in there's no light, if I press the power button there's no light, there's no sound of the fan starting. I've tried doing a reset by doing the "put a paperclip in the pinhole and then hold the power button down" thing, but it didn't fix it. This happened yesterday. There were no software or hardware changes

Press and hold the power button for at least 10 seconds. Then remove the charger. Then press and hold a paperclip into the battery reset pinhole again for 60 seconds. Then plug the charger back in BUT don't try to turn the laptop on until the battery charge LED turns from steady orange to steady blue. This may take 4 or more hours. Once the battery LED turns steady blue, try to turn it on again. Jack E/NJ

When I plugged my laptop back in after pressing the button in the pinhole the charging light didn't light up. Does that mean it didn't work? :(

Leave it plugged in overnight. Don't try to turn it on. The battery was probably discharged well below its critical charge level of 5%. At those levels, it might not be charging fast enough to trip the sensor that turns the battery charge LED on. Just leave it plugged in and check the charge LED again in the morning.  Jack E/NJ
