Acer Aspire One A0532h with Lubuntu installed. Fan keeps running even though CPU is only running at 27% and memory used is 50% - no swap file usage.
Is there anything I can do to stop the fan running?

No, it and it's speed is automatic dependent on the actual chip temperatures, not the CPU or RAM usage level. Don't try to defeat its purpose or the cpu could fail. Jack E/NJ

Thanks for the reply. Actually you are only half right. In linux especially there can be software processes that "mis manage" the fan. These have a software solution to a constantly running fan. That's what I'm enquiring about.

I'm running Mint 19.3  on an AO722 right now in this reply. Which "mis manage" fan  control utility are you referring to?  Do you mean MSI? Windows also has these fan control utilities. My advice? Don't use them! Jack E/NJ
