recently i got a used aspire 4830tg and it was working perfectly fine aside from a drained battery, which was not a problem for me and recently the screen broke and after replacing it the display will turn on the backlight and display nothing, the laptop will detect it in setting and will connect to an external display, the battery also does not show up or work with laptop when connected. the main problem here is obviously the display, i tried restarting my computer several times, did minor troubleshooting, checked connections, and it still will not work. my laptop is currently still put together but not assembled, if that makes sense and i am not sure if putting it together would work and do not want to assemble it for nothing to work, any help is welcome

Disassemble the screen and components again and make sure that any cables have not been broken during assembly also, the combination plug (see caption below) that goes from the screen to the mainboard is not damaged and/or any of its wires are not disconnected or broken, as these wires are very thin and delicate and can disconnect and break easily. You must have a connection problem and you have to check this cable for any broken wires and/or any disconnection problems. i tinkered with it today and found that the problem is definitely the wire connecting the display, but since i'm short on money right now i ended up taping the ***** out of it so now it works perfectly fine, if a little bulgy in that area. the battery is still not working, but that's not a problem since i'm definitely not taking it anywhere for a while, and now the mousepad stopped working, which is also not a problem since i prefer a mouse anyways

Good and hopefully my advice to you worked as I’ve done allot upgrades on these older Aspires and they are a great and cheap secondary laptops(), they are also excellent for upgrades of their cpu, ram and an upgrade to an ssd which makes them work great with Win-10 as a basic platform.

The photos I showed you is from an Aspire 5750 which is a bit newer vintage of your Aspire 4830. In regards to your battery and touchpad these components need to be replaced but, with the touchpad, you could get just the circuitry and change that or you need to get the top cover with the touchpad and circuitry included, as far as the battery is concerned, you have to get a new battery. Good luck.
