Trying to get this computer to boot from CD , managed to change the boot order to cd first, and it shows it being first in boot order, had to turn boot options on, but when using it, the only option it gives is for Windows Boot Manager. Have tried to boot from a cd with a password reset program on it, but computer won't boot from that at all. Any ideas?

Firstly, what operatng system are you running on this gateway? Is it Win-8 or 10? Also, what are you trying to achieve? Are you trying to reinstall the operating system, fix the boot fault and get into its OEM system?

Remember, the Gateway SX2110G-UW24 came with Win-8 and your system has either an MBR/Legacy or GPT/UEFI BIOS, as that could have allot to do with why you are getting “Windows Boot Manager” and can’t go any further, give us more details?

Says Windows 8 on it, not sure if it was upgraded to either 8.1 or 10 as it was my Aunt's computer and she is deceased. Trying to get in and remove forgotten password.

No one else in family knows the password and the hint is too obscure to be of any help. Would like to do a total recovery. Not seeing any recovery options tho.

If it’s a BIOS password or a Win-8 or 10 password then this forum does not allow any guides to that sort of a problem. The only thing that you can do is to take it to an experienced technician and get them to solve your problem as you really have to know what you are doing to proceed further, sorry can’t be of further help.
