Looking to purchase a charger for my Acer Predator Helios 300 PH315-52. I paid 50$ for one after doing a fair amount of research and it turned out to be shorter than the original and was loose (although it did function). The original is longer and fits more securely within the charging port. I am afraid that I will order another charger that won't work.

The correct charger part number is either KP.18001.006 or KP.1800H.001 for the PH315-5x series. The case size and manufacturer might vary but the DC output should be 19.5V x 9.23A  = 180W. The DC output plug dimensions often slightly vary as well --- some may fit loose, some may fit tight, some may fit just right. I have a feeling that you got the correct charger even though it may not look and fit exactly the same as the old charger. Google the part numbers for different vendors. Amazon, Ebay, BatteryDepot, etc all have them for that model. Jack E/NJ
