Will 2666mhz RAM work on my Nitro 5 AN515-43-R3TY?

I have a single stick of 16gb RAM with 2666 frequency, and I plan to replace my dual stick of 8gb ram with 2400mhz on my Acer Nitro 5 AN515-43-R3TY. If I put 2666mhz ram on my laptop, can it at least stoop down to 2400mhz and work fine? or does it really have to be 2400mhz

If your system support upto 2400mhz frequency.

Then single stick of 16gb RAM with 2666 frequency will downclock to 2400mhz and will work fine without any negative impact.

According to me your plan is not good 8GB+8GB=16GB dual channel ram is far better than  single channel 16GB ram 
(Like-2GB+2GB=4GB ram is better than one stick 4GB ram)
With Dual channel 16GB ram fps will be Better, fastest ram responsiveness, low fps drops 

In future you can look for 16GB+16Gb= 32 GB ram dual channel, of course better and faster than 8GB+8GB=16GB ram dual channel

Hi,
I think it will work because others have mixed RAM in this model and it downclock to 2400MHz.
