I was using it one night and everything was fine. The next day I was playing a game without being plugged in and ran the battery low so I plugged it in but it did not start charging. The battery now only has enough charge to get the computer to tell me the battery is critically low then it shuts down again. Since it does that much I think the computer itself is fine but something it wrong between the charging port and the battery. I ordered a new charger but that changed nothing. I guess the batter could be bad but it still works enough to give me that message...

Hi hyperion914, very sorry to hear you're experiencing an issue with the battery/charging of your Acer product. May I ask a few questions to better understand and help my abilities:
    • When did you purchase this unit?
    • Have you recently perform any Windows updates?
    • Did you try a battery reset to have the system discharge any excess energy that may have been accumulated somehow internally?
    • When gaming do you usually game on battery only and what is the power plan you have at the moment selected?
Battery Reset: turn the unit completely off and disconnect the charger and any USB's or external accessories that might be connected, press the power button for 12 seconds and connected to the charger again, and leave it charging for about 30 minutes to 1hr before attempting to do anything with the unit, try to see if the unit starts charging correctly now.
