Hi,

I'm planning to add RAM to my SF315-52G Acer Swift 3 laptop. I've determined that it uses DDR4-2400. I read about the upgradability of this laptop and as I remember its RAM is upgradeable (but it's still questionable).

I contacted Acer Contact here in Turkey and they required me to call their call center, send the laptop via mail to Istanbul and forth to upgrade it which is bugging me. I'm planning about going to a local service in my city. What else should I care about when I buy RAM and upgrading it to the laptop?

Thanks.

The SF315-52G models come with the memory soldered to the motherboard, with no socket for expansion. That's one of the trade-offs for getting that thin of a laptop design...

But I asked Acer Support by e-mail last year about the exact same model, and they replied this:

"Belirtilen cihazda yükseltme işlemi yapılabilmektedir. Kendiniz müdahale etmeniz durumunda cihaz garanti dışı kalacaktır. Ram alıp gönderdiğinizde ücretsiz olarak işlemleri yapılabilmektedir." (Upgrade can be done on the specified device. In case of your own intervention, the device will be out of warranty. When you send and receive ram, the process can be done free of charge.)

Do they or we miss anything? I specified the full model name to them.

Besides that, I ran the Crucial System Scanner, and it says the laptop has compatible upgrades. And also there are slots seems available on the Task Manager (photos attached).
