Newbie here ...
I have an AspireATC710 with two 3TB (SATA) hard drives that are connected to the two SATA slots on the motherboard. The manual says that the motherboard only supports two drives. The two hard drives that are connected, work fine as Drive-C: and Drive-D: -- the M.2 slot is currently empty.

If I insert a SSD drive into the M.2 slot (SATA), will the motherboard support it *and* the two hard drives that are currently connected to the motherboard?
Can I install Windows10 as a boot drive (SATA SSD), thus have three drives (1xM.2, 2x3TB[SATA])?

The manual probably refers to two SATA drives. If M.2 slot is empty, it will be good to add a M.2 SATA SSD there. As far as I know, you can only use the M.2 slot with SATA, not NVMe type, otherwise it will be much better.
Here people discussed about it before. Read this:

The Aspire TC-710 has an M.2 slot for a SATA 3.0 SSD and two SATA connectors for HDD/SSD or ODD. You can populate all three without issues, they likely expect an ODD, a HDD and a SSD as the maximum, but there's no functional reason the ODD can't be a HDD/SSD instead.
