Hi,

What would be a good RAM module for my AN515 55 78df. Is i7-10750H/8gb RAM/GTX 1650 ti.

looking to get 8 GB so i can go dual channel like recommended.

Anything else i need to know when shopping for it? Matching the Hz or timing ? Whats this?

here is a picture of the ram, with a sticker on it to help Identify it.

Also, when I went to task manager>performance it reads its 2933 Mhz for SPEED and is SODIMM

ask if you need anymore info, will reply quick.

Thanks!!

Does my mobo support 3200Mhz RAM?

If the item says sodimm is that the interface? will any DDr4 work like another 8GB stick with 3200Mhz , see this option i found

also will 16 GB dual channel be enough for "great performance"? is 32GB really not that noticeable VS 16GB?

    thank you

  • Hi,
You need to get a 8GB DDR4 3200 SODIMM module, you have to install same size and same frequency modules to utilise dual-channel mode, you should avoid any memory modules with XMP profiles(like HyperX modules), as  you are going to upgrade with the existing memory, you shouldn't mix modules with different profiles, also avoid any memory especially made for other brands of laptops.
Memory model name is on the other side of the module, so you have to remove the RAM and read it or you can download and install CPU-z, run it and get all the details in Memory tab and SPD tab like in my snips.

    Hi ,

    Thanks for your reply!
So your saying i should find a micron tech module or will i be okay with crucial or kingston of same size and mHz ?

Is it true my system is capping my MHZ to 2933 so i get a 3200mhz module and then the system will run it at 2933 unless overclocked in bios?

Here is a screen shot of my SPD in cupid cpu z.

    thank you

Yes, you can get Crucial, Samsung or Kingston Value RAM but not Kingston HyperX modules of 3200MHz SODIMM module, yes the system will work at 2933 MHz and you can not do anything about it.
