I have the Acer Predator Triton 300 (PT315-51-58XZ), when I play games I noticed that the clock speed decreases from 3.5GHz to somewhere 2GHz maybe to 1.9GHz when it reaches 85°C and the performance just tanks. Is it normal for the the CPU (i5-9400H) to throttle at that temperature? I thought CPUs start throttling at 95°C or so? Any Ideas as how to increase the thermal limit on the CPU to 95°C? I tried ThrottleStop method as well as checking the bios but I can't seem to increase the temperature limit of the CPU. Any input from anyone is greatly appreciated!

Are you sure your laptop is thermal throttling? Most laptops use power limit throttling. This can happen at any temperature. Increasing the thermal limit is not going to solve your problem if your real problem is power limit throttling.

Post some screenshots of ThrottleStop 9.2 so I can see how you have the program setup. Turn on the Log File option in ThrottleStop and play a game for at least 15 minutes. When finished testing, exit the game and then exit ThrottleStop. Your log file will be in your ThrottleStop / Logs folder. Copy and paste the data to www.pastebin.com or upload the log file somewhere and post a link here so I can have a look.
