I extended my laptop's warranty and my GPU fan was replaced. So I asked for repaste as well.I bought thermal pads and Kryonaut. After replacing pads and paste my GPU is on the boundary on thermal throttling reaching 87C.CPU temperature is lower than GPUs.Laptop is Predator Helios 300(2019).

Either too little paste was applied or the thermal pads are too big thus taking away contact between heatsink and the gpu die.

I did the whole process myself again.I used 1mm thick pads and reapplied the paste.Same issue.I also applied the paste diagonally across the GPU die. From the last paste by service center guy,Paste was spread on the heatsink.I think it is making contact.Or should I use 0.5mm pads and try again?

Did the paste spread on the die? U can put little bit of paste and just screw the heatsink and then remove it to see if the paste spread. Make sure not to apply extra pressure while unscrewing because that may briefly spread the paste. Personally I had the same problem. I used 1.5 mm pads and put the laptop back together. My gpu went straight to 93'c. Then I opened the heatsink and noticed that the paste didnt spread on the die at all. Then I used 1mm and it has worked great.
