Hi all
How do you remove the cmos battery in the V3-572pg.
I have located it on the underside of the motherboard, however, it is not housed the usual way. It has a small metal like strap attached to it with the other end of the strap soldered to the motherboard.

Yeah, that one is soldered in and needs to be replaced either with another soldered in one or a soldered in socket for one. The standard CR2032 will work if you go the socket route. You can also get one that has the two wires coming off and solder the wires in, then stick the battery in place with a little silicone adhesive. Any way you look at it unless you have soldering skills you might want to look at having a technician do it for you.

It's done on some models, usually because it's slightly cheaper... The batteries typically live longer than the computer stays with the original purchaser, so it's kind of a moot point for most users. Now I have computers I'm still using that were made 15 years ago, so it's something I do see on occasion. :)

  • Hi,
Doesn't it look like in my snip? Could you please post a picture of it.

Sorry it’s not the best image, but I think you can make out the meter like strap attached to the top of the battery and extends to the motherboard.
I have searched for over a week now but still can not find the solution online, so any help would be bril.

    Cheers Billsey
I know it might be unusual but you are first person who got what I was saying about the cmos being soldered in place.
I have search every where on the web but could not find any info or videos on how to replace a cmos which is soldered into place.
    Cheers again👍🏽
