Hello, my predator orion came today & loving it so far, but for some reason the microphone of my Predator galea 311 is not working when i plug it into the headset slot on the front port. it's recognising it as a headset but i get no microphone output at all. is it faulty or just labelled wrongly?
it also has a dedicated microphone port but i just assumed that was for external mics?

This is exactly what happened with me,
what I do now is I go to the realtek audio console app and changes it into headphone,on the headphone mode the mic does not work. If I need the mic I change it into headset under device advanced settings.
(The headset does not work  even if I selected the headset on 'which device did you plug in' popup. I have to do the above)
Just try it and let me know if this solved your problem.

Have you set privacy setting to allow microphone use?

Yeah, that port should support the mic, if it were output only the symbol next to it wouldn't show a headset with mic.

Yep, i've double checked that everything is enabled as it should be. my microphone works if i plug it into the mic port, which is strange

    You should return the computer.

Do you have a different headset to try on it? There are a couple of different pinouts on the plug and with the wrong type the mic signals aren't the same... You can also see similar symptoms if the plug isn't seated all the way into the jack.
