Hello,

I have had this laptop for about 2 years now and for a few months it's been making extremely loud noises. It happens in phases, with which I mean that I'll hear the sound for about 2 days, then a week of silence, and then it's starts making noise again. The sound comes on sometimes when I play a game or open some other heavy program. I've searched the internet but have found nobody describing the sound I hear. It's really so loud. It's like a giant machine inside my computer. And sometimes it's very rhythmic. Anyway, I think it's the fan that is maybe hitting some other parts of the laptop while turning. I've tried cooling my laptop, and have inspected the task manager very often during these "episodes" but have found nothing there. Should I open up my laptop to clean it? Or should I update my system somehow (I read that on some forum)? Or do I simply need to install a new fan? Thanks for helping. I'm desperate to get this fixed.

From your description of the "loud" noise level, I think you should at least inspect and dust off the fan blades with a soft bristle factial blush brush.. Google "a515-52" & "disassembly" for videos on how to remove the bottom cover to access the thermal fan module. Jack E/NJ
