I have a LUMIX G7 and apparently it's not possible to use it for streaming unless I buy an Image Control Hardware, but if my PC already has one installed, y would like to know how to use it.

You should be able to transfer files or stream videos directly from the camera to the A7 via wifi or an A7 USB port. No other hardware is needed. The camera's HDMI output is for connecting to a TV or monitor HDMI input port, not to the A7's HDMI output port. Jack E/NJ

I also tried connecting it vía usb, but I don't find an option to tether the camera's image on the laptop. None of my streaming softwares are able to identify it. All I found on the Internet is that I have to buy additional hardware to make my pc recognize it as a streaming device. Could you help me with the procesos to allow my laptop to identify the camera?

Issues have been reported with the USB cables supplied with G7 cameras. Apparently the mini-USB plug does not fully engage in the camera miniUSB socket due to interference from plastic/rubber insulation. Don't try to force it in the camera. Instead try another non-Panasonic branded mini-USB-to-USB cable.  They are usually less than $10USD. Then simply select connect to a PC on the camera menu and it should be recognized by the laptop.

My camera is perfectly recognised by my laptop and the cable works just fine. The problem is that I can't find a function for my laptop to recognise the camera as a video streaming device.

Then the camera's USB port only supports file transfer. Have you tried to establish a wifi connection according to Panasonic's instructions? https://av.jpn.support.panasonic.com/support/global/cs/dsc/faq/win10/index.html

Thank you JacjE, this is the most accurate solution so far. However, I still can't seem to connect the camera to my PC. Every time I try to use the WiFi setting to tether, the camera just stays in "Search" mode, so apparently the problem belongs to the camera. It works with the Panasonic App on smartphones and tablets though. I still can't find an accurate solution.

Does the camera menu have a BlueTooth pairing option? That might work just as well. Jack E/NJ

    Nope, no Bluetooth.

The camera is searching for your router but can't find it. Routers typically operate in the 2.4 and/or 5 GHz bands. Do you have a Lumix user's manual that specifies whether it is dual or single wifi band and what band channels it operates on? If you don't have a users manual, then try the camera's search mode again but with the camera as close to your router's antennas as possible. Jack E/NJ
