My Aspire laptop model is not listed in the Model menu on the support page - Aspire V5-121

I have some questions about the internal microphone on my laptop. I'm trying to record something live, and without a plug-in microphone. But nothing is being recorded when I run recording software. I don't know whether that's a hardware or software problem, but I tried changing settings according to Windows instructions, to enable the microphone, and that didn't work.

It looks like there is only one jack on the laptop (for 1/8" terminal), and it functions as both input and output. You can use a line-in from another source, or an external microphone as input, and you can plug in headphones or speakers for the output. Is this correct? I'm not sure.

I went to the Acer Support page ( https://www.acer.com/ac/en/GB/content/support ). There are three menus for choosing your exact model. I selected Notebook in the left-hand menu, and Aspire in the middle one. However, I couldn't find my model in the Model menu. Is there a similar model I could choose instead, that would give me the same information that I would have gotten for my model?

OS: Windows 7 Home Premium
