Acer Chromebook 314 turns off and when I hit the power buttom a white screen flashes and turns off

It does a quick flash of white. The power blue light on the side is still on.

I tried esc, F3 and the power button and it flashes quick and turns off. Help!! We only bought it in August and my son only uses it for virtual learning. I can't get through on the phone with Acer

Needless to say, keep trying that phone call. From what I understand they're still in COVID-19 lockdown and the phone systems are forwarding calls to their homes. I doubt if that's running as smoothly as it ought to. That you are getting something on the screen, even a flash of all white, is a better sign than if there was nothing going at all. Have you tried holding the power button down for 30 seconds to force a full power off? Sometimes they can get confused and into a sleep state that doesn't want to wake up. Which model do you have? It should be something like CB314-xxx-xxxx. Some of the newer models have a battery reset pin hole. You can do that reset by disconnecting everything, press and hold the button with something like a bent paper clip for 15-30 seconds, release and wait 15 to 30 minutes then plug power back in and wait for full charge indication. If the system is seeing weird numbers from the battery and not turning on because of them that might help.
