Hi,

I've searched many places and have applied as many solutions that I have found that were suggested.

My Aspire 5 shuts down after about an hour and is very frustrating. It happens whether it is plugged in or on battery power.

It is not from overheating. It will shut down after about an hour and I can restart it immediately and it will work fine until about another hour passes and it shuts down again.

I have reset any power plans back to default and have even tried different combinations. Nothing changes.

I have updated the BIOS. Nothing changes.

I have not found a physical pressure switch that I've seen on other models that need to have an extra layer of material to make sure that it stays activated to keep it from shutting down.

I'm really hoping that I may find a solution here. I like Acer but these problems, which do not seem to be uncommon is very concerning and troublesome.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions or solutions.

This problem could be an internal and faulty mainboard or any appropriate chip(s) etc as its very unusual if you haven’t been able to fix it with the numerous steps and things that you have done. The best solution is to take your A515-43-R19L to an “Acer Service Centre” so that they can diagnose the problem of your A515-43-R19L. They have the appropriate equipment to test the mainboard out and fix your problem and replace parts appropriately. There could be numerous problems and giving you any suggestions and/or solutions could involve things that are beyond your expertise and/or what someone could do in a domestic environment, as it needs appropriate parts and tools and that would be the only way to fix these sorts of problems on your A515-43-R19L, good luck.

Thank you for the suggestion. I fear that you are correct but I was hoping there may be a simpler (less expensive) solution.

    Thanks again.
