My wife and I both recently bought a Nitro 5 17.3" Gaming Laptop - Intel Core i5 - 8GB Memory - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 Ti - 512GB SSD (AN517-52-52T3) from Best Buy to play World of Warcraft from some friends (we are in our 40's 😊).
I knew it came with a single 8 GB RAM and we could upgrade the RAM by adding another 8 GB RAM. I asked the employee and he told me that Best Buy didn't have any single RAM in-stock and that the could Geek Squad had some, but it would be cheaper to buy it from Amazon and install it myself because it is very easy. I didn't know there were so many different types of RAM and I want to make 100% sure I am getting the right thing. I've tried to do my research and see that adding the additional RAM stick is relatively easy, but I find myself completely confused when it comes to compatibility with the processor and compatibility regarding 2400MGh vs 2600 MGh.

1. Would these work or do you have any other recommendations?

2. Any recommendations as far as drivers, updates, etc? (I went to the Windows Update Settings and did all the recommended updates there)

Thank you for your patience and help with a tech. newbie.

First get CPUz (SETUP • ENGLISH 32 and 64-bit version) and look in ‘Memory” and “SPD” section for the exact specs of your existing RAM and match that which will be the best way for your to upgrade. But, the Nitro AN517-52 takes a max of 32GB of DDR4 SODIMM NON-ECC Unbuffered 260pin 1.2V CL15 Single Rank RAM.
