Please help me! I just bought the Acer Nitro 5 2020 model core i5 gtx 1650. I've connected multiple different headsets and none of them detect the headset microphone. My laptop keeps using the built-in microphone on the laptop. I have found no answers online! They all don't work and it is very frustrating! I can hear audio from my headset just fine. All I see as microphone options are Microphone Array which is what I don't want. I even made sure the realtek audio console is using the headset option. Please please please help, I don't want to know that I wasted my money.

It has one jack. Both of the headsets I've tried have one jack.

Acer combined your headset mic and internal mic under the single name "mic array". Tap your headset mic and you will see the signal meter jumps.

Any other fixes for this? My headset is Onikuma K19 and I tried everything from the internet and such even Loudlion said: it's not detecting the microphone of the headset, I also checked and the headset isn't faulty or anything. Thanks!
Hey there - just adding if you haven't solved it. I was having this problem but managed to get it to work by doing the following: Click the windows/start button > type realtek > open ' Realtek Audio Console ' > ' Device Advanced Settings' (at the bottom left) > change the connector retasking to ' Headset '. Should now work hopefully!

I finally solved my mic issue, it's not perfect but it works.

Go to Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > HD Audio Manager(I have Realtek HD Audio drivers), double click on Analog button and set current device to headset. Now all the apps will use the headset's mic but it will still not show up in Playback and Recording devices. I hope somebody will find this helpful.

It did not work in my acer 5 nitro (2021 model). I tried selecting Headset or Headphone via Realtek Audio Manager under analog output. It did not detect my headset. No sound comes out and no mic. I tried testing the realtek headset icon in the device manager and this error message pop out "test failed". Also, if I select "Speaker output" in the analog output, the sound comes out from my headset but not a good sound (very flat, not high Def). However, if I used my headphone via type c jack of the acer nitro 5 (right side), the sound is great. I am so frustrated already with this brand new acer nitro 5.

I have the same model. I went to Realtek Audio Console under analog output too and I selected headset and it finally detects my earphone mic. I even used an audio splitter and plug my earphone and an external mic, it also detects the external mic. although it still named under microphone array, it isn't the laptop built in mic anymore

Hey, So I am also having problems with this, and I have done everything said here except that when I got to Device Advanced Settings, it would not allow me to change it to headset.

Can't connect to RPC generally means that the realtek hd univseral service is not started on startup.

Go to task manager, go to the startup tab and see if any realtek stuff is enable to start on startup.

You can always reinstall your realtek driver --- must use the installer exe.
