Why no sound when connected to bluetooth speaker or headphones? Chromebook 14, CB3-431.

Or rather why does my Chromebook continue emit the audio even though I have successfully paired both a bluetooth speaker and bluetooth headphones to the device?

The pairing works perfectly but the Acer Chromebook does not route the audio through the paired device and continues to play from the Chromebook. Needless to say both the bluetooth speaker and bluetooth headphones work flawlessly with the numerous other devices I have paired them with.

To be clear, I have already tried all the obvious steps to get this working; updated, rebooted, re-paired, turned bluetooth off and on.. etc etc.

I am currently of the mind that the Acer Chromebook 14 CB3-431 has a big issue with bluetooth audio, especially as research has revealed that many, many other people have the same problem.

To be clear aidf that is not the same problem. Both my bluetooth headphones and my bluetooth speaker successfully pair with the Chromebook. The issue is that the audio continues to come out of the Chromebook!

If you go to the volume settings at bottom right you can click on the arrow to choose where you want to sound to go. Your Bluetooth devices should be there.
