Hello guys!

From the last few days I have been getting problems with my laptop. I am assuming it is because of faulty ram. So one day when I started my laptop it wouldn’t turn on. I would only get the red light from the keyboard, it would blink, turn on and off. When I connected my mouse I couldn’t see any lights(on the mouse)

I then decided to remove the ram(both of them) and connect a 8 Gb ram(ddr4 Kingston) from my other laptop. And then my system booted! So now my system freezes if I open multiple chrome tabs or open too many things(I am guessing 8 gb ram is less). When I put the original ram( both of them one at a time) in my other laptop, they work just fine, but when I combine any of the old rams with the new one, the laptop would not turn on, only get a black screen. Is it possible I have a malware? What is the best way to check and take care of my system?

I don’t understand the reason! I have switched the new ram from 1 slot to the 2nd one and it appears the slots are working fine, I just don’t understand how can both of the ram malfunction at the same time. Im guessing the ram work in a pair, so its a bad idea to combine different rams.  Maybe I should get the same 8 gb Kingston ram? Is it fine if i combine 8 with 16 gbs?

Anyway thank you! Sorry for the typos and editing...

Although combining different Ram sizes isn't guaranteed to be a problem, it maybe the reason. This makes the first 8GB run in dual channel and the remaining in single.
Are you sure that you are using the same ram type and speed? If not, this will definitely be the problem that you are facing (brand doesn't matter btw).
