Dear All,

Please, prove me wrong with the subject!

UK support telephone number 0371 760 1005 doesn't work. The pre-recorded message states the office is closed. The chat facility if not functioning permanently, regardless of the business hours.

Submitted repair request online on 30th September. The form submission process didn't reveal any instructions on what to do next. Email acknowledgment states: Your request has been submitted successfully. We will get back to you shortly.

48 hours later submitted a question to support. The ticket has been closed without any resolution.

Having a second question submitted to support has resulted in the support portal being broken. It throws an exception at me: xxxxxxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx Minimum value exceeded: value 1970-01-01 < 1970-01-02 minimum; Asset.PurchasedDate

Is it just me? Or is it a sign of something bigger?

Can anybody share a fool-proof way of printing a free RMA label?

Yours sincerely,
Wang Wei

@billsey, thank you for your positive post!

There are quite a few objections though. Zero date in Linux epoch format is not an excuse to throw an exception, especially during pandemic, when the office telephone is switched off. The error has started to manifest itself right upon the second ticket submission. Brilliant! A ticketing system with a capacity for two cases  :) And no, hope isn't a good strategy.

I had an experience of a live chat on the Acer US site. Although it was fruitless, the chat feedback form asked about my next step. One of the choices was to call the retailer. That's were I started off, full circle. Nevertheless, an online form submission has resulted in a call. And yes, the retailer has happened to have a direct line, straight to Acer support. The UPS RMA label is ready to be attached to a box from Amazon. Smashing!

Well, 1970-01-01 is the number zero in date format, their database is obviously looking for the date to be a positive number hence the error. I believe they're still in Covid-19 shutdown, so the phone system is still wonky. Hopefully they'll get that cleared up soon.
