Just bought chromebook CB514 -1H-C1T8 for my daughter but cannot turn on the backlit keyboard

It is advertised in Currys as having a backlit keyboard.
I have tried holding Alt and the screen brightness button, but have nothing.

Is it broken? Dont want to waste a journey to Currys during lockdown.

    Although many of the CB-514-1H models do have a backlit keyboard, I believe the C1T8 does not. They don't show that line in the specs that I can see, and do in the other SKUs that have it. This is the data sheet for your model. It might be the difference between the US model and the UK model...
