Compared to my $279 Lenovo ThinkVision monitor the screen on the SB220Q is yellowish or off-white when the background is supposed to be white. I tried to alleviate it using the manual screen adjustment buttons on the monitor and by using Windows Color Management with no success. Night Lite is OFF. I also tried adjusting the monitor image using the Nvidia control manual with no success. My desktop has a high end video card: Geforce GTX 1080.

Looking at the pics on Amazon from other buyers they all look quite similar. The screens are not pure white but off-white or yellowish. Some buyers have also complained about the issue.

Being this is an $89 monitor, is this normal for such a low-end model? Two reviewers said the monitors bought last year weren't so bad, but the ones they bought recently were yellowish.

Clevor, I am having the exact same issue.  Got a new monitor for my birthday and the white has a yellowish tent.  I purchased two other monitors like this in May 2020 with no issues.  I did notice that ACER no longer has the SSB220Q on their website.  Their site redirects you to Amazon.

The first one I had this issue so I got it replaced thinking it was just a dud.  Got the new one today, same issues.  Does anyone have ideas as to the problem?

I did a Google search and seems this is a common issue with what I presume to be low-end Acer monitors. Others have complained about a greenish or gray tint when white backgrounds are supposed to be displayed. It boils down to you get what you pay for.

Most people who buy the SSB220Q are cheap and own a cheap laptop, which probably has monitor screens which are off-white and grayish at best, or have yellow or green tints at worse, so they won't notice the issue with this monitor. I was just using my Dell XPS13 last night and it's a high end laptop, but the screen isn't as white as my Lenovo ThinkVision monitor too, but better than the Acer. It has an off-white tint.

But if you bought one of these Acer monitors earlier and bought a second one now to run two screens, yes, the mismatching screens will really be annoying.

The only reason I have not returned the monitor to Amazon is it is pretty sharp and the colors are decently vibrant. And I may have to throw this monitor out if I move abroad for a couple of years so at $89, it fit the bill.
