Hi All,
I have an Acer Aspire T3-710. Suddenly, the CD/DVD drive is not working and I can't even open the tray.
The model is KO.0080D.017
I need to buy a new drive however, I can't find where to buy it. Amazon states that it is not available.
Does anyone know where can I find it or if there any other model that I can install instead of the KO.0080D.017 model?

Thank you in advance.

    How about consider buying an external USB 3.0 CD/DVD drive. Nowadays people use DVD drives less and less. You can even save the data and power connectors for additional HDD or SSD and use the external DVD only if needed.

    Thank you for your answer!  B)
    You are absolutely right regarding the (low) use of DVD's, however, for the type of work that I do, I need to create a DVD for each customer, therefore I need the DVD writer.
    The external drive is an option indeed, however, I have a (very) limited working space. This is why I am looking for an internal replacement.
    Again, thanks.

    @CC14C,

     I suppose you still can put a slim style external DVD drive of about half inch thick on top of your PC  even with very limited working space. The external DVD will still burn DVD disc like the original internal drive.
    If you insist on the original DVD drive,  have you tried to contact Acer?

    BTW, do you know you can use the end of a paper clip and inserting it to the tiny hole at the DVD drive to manually eject the drive tray?

    So the drive that comes stock on your model is a super-multi Slimline type, 9mm in thickness and SATA 3.0. You can get almost any replacement drive that has the same connector on the back and reuse your front bezel. The various SKUs used DVD-ROM, DVD-R/W or Blue Ray drives, they all supported R/W on lower level discs, so R/W on a CD even though the drive was read only with DVDs for the DVD-ROM models. Note that some of the newer drives use a smaller connection on the back, so be sure to match to what you have. If it were my machine I'd go ahead and pay a little more for a Blue Ray drive and make sure it handles writing both BR and DVD-DL.

    Thank you so much for this information. Very useful!
    Yesterday, and after a very callous  :o answer from Acer tech support, I contacted several stores. I found the same drive, I bought it, and it is supposed to arrive tomorrow. Let's hope that this will solve the issue.
    Again, thank you for your help.
