Hello fellow acer users

Context: (please tell me if i did something stupid)
I am using a Acer Aspire S5-371-52UF laptop which i bought 3 years ago.
My SSD recently seems to have crashed (pc said no bootable device was found, and no HDD was found in the Bios)
I think the supposedly broken SSD is a SATA M.2 type since it has both a B and M type slot.
I checked with a USB adapter (ewent EW7023, dutch spec site (click)) whether it was the connection on the motherboard that was broken or the SSD itself. The SSD in the USB case did not respond so I think it is the SSD that is broken (also possible is that the SSD is after all a M.2 NVMe PCIe type and the USB adapter didn't work because it in fact only supports M.2 SATA types).

Main question:
I am looking to buy a new M.2 SSD and hope this will fix my issues. But I was wondering what type of M.2 SSD I have to buy. A SATA or a NVME PCIe. The compatibility of the las one would be preferred but i fear the laptop is too old. I looked for a table as shown below for the Nitro 5 model, but i couldn't anything similar for the Acer Aspire S5-371 model. I was hoping someone could help me.
Also I was wondering if I have to be aware of other things when I buy my SSD M.2 replacement.

Kind regards and thanks a lot in advance
Emile
