Hi, I hope this is the correct place to ask (couldn't see a category regarding hardware issues).

I have a Aspire VN7-591G laptop for 4 years and haven't had too many issues with it. However I have had 2 Tecknet bluetooth mice (this type: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B000Q7V0W4?ref_=pe_2105081_90912491_E_CReturnsRefundConfirmation_Asin_Title), for about 2 years now. They had both worked great, until suddenly both starting having issues where they would suddenly stop working- and I have to use my touchpad to enter bluetooth settings and suddenly they reconnect again.

I firstly uninstalled the mice from bluetooth settings and reconnected them, but that doesn't seem to have changed anything. I then tried buying a new mouse of the same kind (as it was good value and a good mouse), thinking they had become faulty, but the same connection issue arose so I returned it. Now I've done a lot of troubleshooting without much luck yet, but what I have noticed is about disabling the setting in device manager, Human Interface Devices , Bluetooth HID Device, Properties, power managment and disable "“Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power". Now I have 2 Bluetooth HID Devices listed there (maybe because I have 2 same mice?), but one of them seems to be re-enabling the power saving setting somehow, as a few times I've checked it again and had to disable the setting again. Could that be the cause of this problem? Doesn't seem too logical though, because I never had issues in the past and the first time I looked it was ticked so presumably was always enabled before?

Otherwise I thought it may be a bluetooth issue with the laptop, so considered bluetooth drivers. All the devices under task manager, bluetooth settings, show drivers are up to date when I check via there. I eventually found bluetooth drivers for my laptop model on Acer site here, but all are shown as released 2017 so I'm not sure they would help? I don't know which to choose either:
https://www.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/support-product/5614?b=1   . Should I try one of those if so which? (I don't use other bluetooth devices on this so I can't compare with others). Also where can I see specifically which bluetooth driver I have installed?

There is also no obvious mouse drivers shown on the Tecknet site for that mouse: http://www.tecknet.co.uk/support/bm308.html

I'm not convinced getting a different bluetooth mouse will be any different. But if that is worth trying can someone suggest a decent good value one (only need one fairly basic)? I'd much rather not switch to a USB reciever mouse, as I only have 3 USB slots and I transport my laptop around a lot (and so don't use a USB hub)- but at a last resort I may have to.

I've tried contacting Acer and tecknet (for the mouse) support but am not finding much help from them.

Hope someone can help, as working from home it's starting to drive me up the wall. Thanks.

Don't use that one. You can also try disabling fast boot which sometimes creates issues like this. Open ControlPanel. Search 'button'. Click 'change what the power buttons do' in left pane. Click 'change settings that are currently unavailable'. Scroll down and uncheck the box for fast startup. Jack E/NJ

I'd rather find another solution than have to disable fast boot. I was hoping for some advice on bluetooth drivers, which of those shown in the link I gave should I choose if any? They are all dated 2017 so I'm not convinced they'd help, but I really want to try something and I don't have much knowledge of manually installing drivers so don't want to mess things up even more.

Click drivers and manuals, then driver and scroll down to see the various bluetooth drivers available (I'm not even sure how to see which driver I currently have installed):
