Thanks. I tried that but not able to see if this has switched it on or off. When a do it, it shows small computer image in the middle that’s it.How can I check if it’s in or off ? I suspect this is the problem because my 3 year old son has been pressing buttons on it.0

The buttons on the TV? Make sure the TV is powered on and connected to the HDMI port. Jack E/NJ

1st: Make sure that all of your connections are intact. Power, HDMI, etc.2nd: Make sure you follow the correct procedure in plugging in the HDMI cable. HDMI is sensitive to the order in which you plug it in. Try plugging in the display's power first, then the HDMI cable after.Hope I helped you out.0

>>>I suspect this is the problem because my 3 year old son has been pressing buttons on it.>>>Not the laptop screen. The TV screen. The laptop is fine. It's sending an image to the TV screen. If you don't see it on the TV screen, then something's wrong with the TV or the HDMI cable, not the laptop. Has your 3 year old been pushing buttons on the TV? Jack E/NJ

I have two TVs and one monitor. All of them have separate HDMI cable attached to them. I have tried connecting it to all of them and it’s not working on any of them. So I don’t think that issue is with TV/monitor or HDMI cable.0

What's your full ACER model number E5-5xx? F5-xxx? ES1-xxx? That might help. And what buttons do you think your son was messing with? Or perhaps was he fussing with the HDMI plug and port? On the TVs or the laptop? Jack E/NJ

Model number is Aspire V5-471PG. My son was using the laptop for his online classes, so not sure if he pressed any button that messed it up.0
