ConceptD 7 Ezel earns Editors’ Choice Award from Digital Trends in first U.S. review

Digital Trends - has posted the first U.S.-based review of the ConceptD 7 Ezel and given it 4 ½ stars and awarded it an Editors’ Choice award. It was praised for its design, performance, build quality and display. They stated that while the performance would be similar with the competitors, “none of those laptops come with a hinge like the ConceptD 7 Ezel’s. None scale up to the same level of performance as the ConceptD 7 Ezel either.”

Optimized Thermals - Vortex Flow

A quiet and comfortable environment is vital when you’re focusing on an important piece of design. The combination of the 4th Gen AeroBlade™ 3D fans and our latest thermal cooling technology generates a unique aerodynamic ‘Vortex Flow’ within the device to both reduce noise levels to less than 40dBA and ensure the device and the components inside stay frosty even when pushed to the limit.

Precision Drawing

By using Wacom EMR pen technology, users get the natural and intuitive feeling of drawing on paper whilst drawing on a smooth glass screen. With 4,096 levels of pressure sensitivity, the EMR pen perfectly replicates the fluidity of ink. With the digitalized design workspace, quickly send your artwork to clients, publishers, printers, or just freely distribute it to your audience.

Elevate Your Creative Workflow

Acer’s patented Ezel™ Hinge gives users six modes to choose from, allowing them to easily collaborate with others in share mode, create efficiently in float mode, work on the move with stand mode, review content in pad mode, present their work in display mode, and otherwise work in peace in laptop mode.
“The ConceptD 7 Ezel is in a class by itself. There’s not another consumer laptop designed and built quite so specifically for one kind of user — creative professionals. Even professional workstations that are also built for such users aren’t as tailor-made for creators. The ConceptD 7 Ezel’s design is just that good for its obvious purpose, and Acer deserves some kudos for getting so much right.” - By Mark Coppock

It’s an exciting device, I just wish y’all had a better approach to this.

I haven’t seen any reviews from Notebookcheck nor UltrabookReview, no review videos from Dave2D, Jarrod’s Tech, Matthew Moniz, or others who review laptops for creative pros. Brad Colbow reviewed the Conceptd 3 Ezel on his channel, came away disappointed, but didn’t even mention the EMR input on the 7. Why not send him one?

In addition, there’s no mention of a warranty on the Conceptd site, which is simply scary. For those of us who make our living off a laptop, how are we supposed to switch from a Dell, Lenovo, or HP product without a nice warranty to assure us we won’t go days without the device that generates our income?

Can’t seem to edit my post on mobile, but wanted to correct my previous statement. There is exactly one actual video review by Sara Dietschy, which is pretty vague on performance, thermals, and emissions. So yeah that’d be great to see other than great warranty options. Or even a way to view what warranty options there are, since the URL to that is dead.
