Hi. I recently purchased an external monitor that I would like to connect to my Swift SF314-52G laptop. The monitor is USB-C compatible. I understand that the Swift SF314-52G has a USB-C port, but it may not be able to carry a video signal. I would really like to use the USB-C (vs. an HDMI cable) to connect the monitor to the laptop and charge the laptop as I have a small desk, want to limit the number of wires, and also have another machine which works with a USB-C. Is there a workaround for this? Could I buy some sort of an external port/dock/adapter to solve this issue, or install some new drivers? I'd really appreciate some ideas here. Thank you!

The USB-C port is a gen1 on the SF314-52G, so no DP over USB-C. Use the HDMI port or a USB-C dock to connect an external monitor. In addition there is no indication that the USB-C supports charging the laptop.

Thank you. Is there any workaround for the display issue? Can I buy an adapter to still use the USB-C port that the monitor has? My Mac display will only work with the USB-C and I am looking to reduce the clutter on my desk, so am hoping to find a way to use the USB-C cable for this. Thank you very much.

You would need to use a USB dock to do it and most of those do the video over HDMI or DP instead of using the USB-C port on the dock.
