I just bought the acer nitro xv240yp (a 144hz monitor) but when I connect it to my laptop (Lenovo Legion Y520, i5 7th gen and a gtx 1050) it only shows 60hz. When my laptop screen is duplicated to the monitor I can only choose 30 or 60hz in windows settings, but when I expand the screen of my laptop to the monitor I can choose 30, 60 or 120hz. When I select 120hz and open a game the resolution drops dramatically (only in game, on the homescreen or a chrome tab the resolution is just fine) Does anybody know what I can do to get 144hz or get rid of the bad resolution?
