From the past few months, my Acer A515-51's display flickers like some old hacking movies. It goes black and glitches when I try to adjust the display view angle. Since the device is under warranty, I called up the service center and the executive came and checked it. According to him, there was any time of physical damage externally which has caused the wire of the panel to come out of its place. Since it is physical damage they will charge me if I want it fixed. However, I am not sure if I did that physical damage. I never dropped the laptop or any other hit. Last time the case was opened by other personnel who replace my keyboard and the current problem started after a few weeks. Is it some sort of scam to charge customers?

Is it worth it to fix it by paying them although the laptop seems to be working fine except that glitch which happens when I try to adjust the lid? Will it cost significantly higher if I decide to fix it later after the warranty is over? The personnel told me it will charge an additional 1500 INR service charge + GST if it is out of warranty.
