Hello Community!

I purchased my laptop from Amazon on January 16th, 2019. For most of the time I've had it I've needed to keep it plugged in or it dies immediately. Sometimes I can unplug it and it will last a few minutes, but mostly it dies. I never investigated the issue, I just rolled with it. Fast-forward a year or so and my laptop gets very hot on the left side whenever I have it on, regardless of surface type it's on. I finally open that sucker up and clean the fan and heat sink. Also around this time I decide to try and fix the battery issue finally and look up and down the internet for solutions that my novice level of technical expertise would allow me to try. One of which was updating the BIOS. So I try to update the BIOS and am told I need to restart to finish. I try but am told I need more battery power to make it work. Okay, so maybe I'll just buy a new battery in a few weeks. In the meantime, when I get that screen on startup I can't seem to get past it any other way than just unplugging the laptop so it dies and then restarting it. It works. However, probably not great for the machine.

Okay, now to current context: I plug my computer in and plug it into an external monitor via VGA cable. I get the same Low Battery Cannot Update BIOS screen. I unplug it and try again. I expect it to start up like it normally does, so I walk away. Suddenly I hear a loud beeping. Freaked out, I come back and see the screen is black, the power light is on, and there are beeps. Okay, so this is just an audio error message for when the screen doesn't work. Well, I don't notice a pattern or anything, just continuous beeps. I tried restarting the battery by pushing a paperclip into the little hole on the underside, but no. After about this point, it just dies completely. It won't turn on, won't make beeps, no lights on at all. I then tried reseating the battery, but no. I tried pulling out that little circular battery attached to the mainframe, letting it sit 30 minutes and then putting it back in, but no. I am currently out of ideas because I am not super savvy. I can research and bumble my way through some troubleshooting, but I am now at a point where I have no idea. Maybe getting a new battery? Maybe something is fried and it is just dead? I don't know what to try next. Any ideas, community?

Also, if you need more information on anything, please ask and I will deliver. I have a video of the beeps that I can put somewhere on the internet for people to hear, but what's the best place to do that?
