My laptop(Predator PH315-51) is having CPU usage of 5-15% when doing nothing. I have also windows optimised it. When I open task manager I find a process called 'system' which cnsumes maximum CPU. How to reduce the usage?

busu3 my temps on idle with the current background usage (discord mirc telegram and other software i cant post about here) are 50/55 on cpu 40/45 on gpu and this includes the teamviewer and vnc processes/rendering when accessing it and yes the more usage the more heat but as long as it doesnt go above the limits theres nothing to worry about
Mine is about 50 on cpu and 43 on gpu. But does the background usage affect gaming temps?
not much but u should close as many background software u have running while youre gaming to avoid fps drops

If your computer has an application that has a high memory or CPU usage. It will now require your operating system to be refreshed by performing a clean boot. This includes the resetting of system processes that are running on services.msc. To resolve your concern, visit this link and follow the instructions and go the section How to perform a clean boot for Windows.

In addition, you need at least 30% of free space on your hard drive for optimum results and updated BIOS (Basic Input/Output System) driver.

I performed a cleant boot. After the clean boot the usage was really low(about 1-5%). Then I again enabled all the services then restarted. Now the usage is back to 10-15%.

I thought background cpu usage adds up to the usage while gaming thus generating more heat, idk if it is true though.
