Hello,

I have an Acer aspire 5750G and my internet keeps dropping out. It seems to work ok then all of a sudden the connection drops and doesn’t recognise any WiFi devices. All other devices are working fine on that WiFi. I have changed the WiFi and still the issue occurs.

When I right click on the internet connection icon in the bottom right and try to “troubleshoot”, the laptop often crashes, meaning I have to reboot. Only after maybe 10 attempts at rebooting does the internet seemt to work again

I’m not sure if this could be due to overheating? I’ve looked online and tried all sorts of solutions (device manager uninstall WiFi, update drivers etc) but not luck.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Owain

Forgot to say, when the troubleshooter does work it say there’s a problem with my “wireless network adapter”, do I need to fit a new one in order to get it to work?

The WiFi card on your system is a miniPCIe and Acer bought them from more than one vendor. You could drop in a replacement, assuming the issue isn't just a loose antenna, or put in a different one, potentially using a newer chipset. Yours does 802.11b/g/n but you could add 802.11ac to that easily.
