Hi,

I have been planning to upgrade my ram from 8 gb ( 4 removable + 4 onboard non-removable ) to 20 gb ( 16 removable + 4 onboard non-removable ) but while reseraching I learned about ram channels. So I dug a bit deeper but could find any good info about Dual Channel vs Single Channel ram. So here's my question: Will the be a noticeable differace in running Dual Channel vs Single Channel ram? I will mainly be gaming.

Thanks!

P.S. my PC is an Acer Aspire 5, A515-54G-54QQ.

Maybe a slight advantage with dual but not worth paying too much extra for. The best choice would be a matched pair of modules, which of course, you cannot do with the onboard RAM. I'd go by price for the 16GB DDR4 module. However you might not get that big a bang for the extra 12GB RAM that you might expect for gaming since this is not a gaming machine. There are other factors involved.   Jack E/NJ

Ok thanks for the tips! I think I'll just get the 16gb ram stick incase I need to use my PC for heavy loads. :)
