Trying to install a Linux distro, yet no local drives can be seen to install to

So I recently got a new Aspire 7, and decided to install Fedora on it. However, when trying to select a drive to install to, no drives can be seen. After some searching, I found a solution; namely, change the drive mode from IDE to AHCI, which should cause the drive to show up. Checking the BIOS setting, however, shows that there is no option to do so. How am I supposed to install it? I'm on the latest BIOS version, btw.
