Helios 300 Model PH315-53-72XD: Keyboard is somewhat unresponsive.

I just got this laptop a week ago and the keyboard has been acting up. Certain keys tend to be unresponsive unless pressed down really hard (they are not physically hard to press down, but seem to just not register for very long when being held down). The worst offenders are the W, Left Shift, I, O, Right Shift, and Enter keys. I tried reinstalling the keyboard drivers, doing a system restore, updating the bios, and attempting to clean the keys, but nothing has solved the problem. I'm torn weather or not I should return the unit and get a replacement, because while the problem is annoying and could be a defect, I am worried that the keyboard is just low quality as most laptop keyboards tend to be. I could live with all the other keys being somewhat bad because I type with my index fingers, but the shift key is enraging because it is the most unresponsive one and I have to jam my pinky finger into it while playing CSGO or Halo. I also do not want to go through the hassle of sending the unit to Acer because I am pretty sure they charge shipping fees, whereas returning it to amazon would cost nothing. Has anyone else had this problem or do I just have a defective keyboard?

I have a Helios 300 as well and there are keys, the S key especially, that doesn't work half the time unless I really poke at it. I write a lot and this is beyond frustrating. The previous Helios 300 I had did not have this problem, but for whatever reason, the battery connection to the AC cable started acting up badly and after only having it 40 days, Acer insisted I return it and be without the laptop for at least four weeks. Seriously? So after having my problem escalated at Amazon, they accepted a return of the previous one and sent this, which is the exact same model. Since I don't want to try for a second return, I did see a post where the person had tried everything to correct the same Key problem we have and finally cracked the back open and found the ribbon connection to the keyboard wasn't tight. They tightened it, the problem went away. I just saw that today so haven't tried it yet. I'm waiting for my 30 day return window to pass in case it just blows up on me during that time. Once that's passed, I intend to put my bigger hard drive in it anyway and will check all the connections then, but it sucks when you're whipping along typing and look to see that a quarter of the words are "misspelled" because there are missing letters thanks to the keyboard.

Also, you'll see the problem posted many places. It's an issue Acer has not addressed.

I'm having the same issue. Coming up on one year and considering whether I should send to Acer on warranty. What solution worked? Really hard to type.
