So I opened my Helios 300 today to repaste it myself for the first time. I had got it repasted under warranty a couple of months ago but I wanted to do it myself because I think they had done a poor job. When I opened the heat sink assembly after looking into a online guide, I found out that one of the copper pad has detached from the heat sink assembly and is stuck on the VRAM die because of the pink paste. The copper pad was attached to heatsink using some cement like material. I managed to rub out almost all of it using q-tips and IPA. What do I do now? Can I just apply a thin layer of Kryonaut instead of the cement? Also, there were neon coloured thermal pads and pink paste on other things. Could you please take a look and tell me if I need to replace any of those? I have some fresh 0.5 mm and 1 mm thermal pads. I would really appreciate some quick help because I dont want to keep my laptop open for long.
