Laptop- Acer Aspire E5-573
I replaced my laptop battery with a Laplife battery and also upgraded the RAM with 4 GB Kingston DDR3 memory.
After some days the laptop keyboard suddenly stopped working.
I use ubuntu and windows in dual boot.
I have tried reinstalling the drivers.

The KB ribbon cable connector needs to be reseated a few times on the mainboard to clean its contacts. Jack E/NJ

    Thanks, Jack for your reply.
    Cleaning the ribbon didn't work.
I would like to add one more thing that sometimes when I press all keys together then some of the keys are typed in the password box but after this nothing gets typed.

Remove the charger. Gently press and hold a paperclip into the battery reset pinhole on the bottom for 30-60 seconds. At the same time press and hold the power button. Then plug the charger back in. Turn the machine on and immediately start tapping the F2 key to enter the BIOS menu. Check operation of keys in BIOS menu. Use the Security tab passwords to check alphanumeric keys operation but don't try to set and save any passwords. Exit the BIOS menu without saving any changes. Jack E/NJ

No. Turn the laptop OFF, remove charger and try the battery reset pinhole again for 30-60 seconds while pressing and holding  the power button.

Sometimes new memory modules fail like this. Replace the new Kingston with the old original memory module to see what happens. Jack E/NJ.

I have not replaced the old memory module in spite I have added one extra 4gb memory module. So now my laptop is having 2 4gb memory modules, in total 8gb.

i wanted to know if there is a way to know if the keyboard has been short-circuited or damaged due to replacement of battery.

There is some risk if the battery was still connected or laptop plugged in when you changed the RAM or disconnected/reconnected any cables. Jack E/NJ
