Hi everyone,

My Predator X34 randomly turns from the beautiful display that it is into a mess of green, purple and white lines. I originally thought that it may be due to the GPU (GTX 1080) but I tried reseating it and updating the drivers but the lines still appear. I then thought it must be the DP cable so I tried an HDMI, no dice there either. I then unplugged the monitor from any source and tried turning it on and the lines still appeared. It goes away if I press on the bezels but then appears randomly a few times per session.

Not sure what would be wrong with it. It is a year out of the 3 year warranty.

Any help is appreciated.

I've attached a few pictures as well.

    I've fixed it!

I took it completely apart and cleaned the plugs and jacks. It is a bit tricky to open the back.

Inside are four cables from the mainboard to the display panel. I cleaned all connectors and jacks from them. The monitor belonged to a smoker and it is all full of nicotine and yellow dirt.

I also cleaned the G-Sync board and the socket.

    Short instruction:
    - Put the screen with the front side on the table.
    - Remove the stand. (Four screws)
    - Open the back. One screw at the connections + many plastic clamps all around.
    - Remove the metal adhesive tape inside and keep it. Stick it later again at the same place.
    - Disconnect the four cables that go to the display panel. Careful, they are very tight.
    - Disconnect the speakers.
    - Disconnect the three ribbon cables, they are for the buttons and LED bar.
    - Unscrew the metal frame. (Two screws are at the bottom speaker).
    - Disconnect the four cables from the display panel.
    - Now you can turn the metal frame around.
    - Pull off the plastic foil. And put aside.
    - Remove the USB board (three screws and one plug)
    - Unscrew mainboard (three screws)
    - Remove G-Sync card, has a socket like RAM. (Two screws).
    - Clean all plugs and sockets. Only spray with contact spray.
    - Reassemble everything

I just tried this and the problem was fixed for about an hour and now the lines will not leave. Acer says its 569.99 to even look at at. Are there any other options?
