I just got a new SF514-54T which I like a lot BUT for this one thing that drives me crazy. Each time I plug or unplug the charger, the system emits a loud beep noise. I want to turn this off. I have looked everywhere but none of the suggested solutions are possible of work for me.
Here are some details:
-
SF514-54T-70HE
- I updated the Synaptics Audio drivers to the most recent
9.0.282.90
- Windows 10 Home 2004 (build 19041.450)
- turning the system volume to zero turns the beep to a very low, barely audible beep (but not zero - beep still there)
- muting the system does nothing to the beep which remains loud if volume is 100
- if I am using headphones, the beep still comes from the speakers (or the body of the computer, if there is such a thing, not entirely sure)
- booting windows in safe mode, the beep still happens
My problem is similar to those:
https://community.acer.com/en/discussion/584820/swift-5-beeping-sound-when-plugging-in-unplugging-charger-sf514-54gthttps://superuser.com/questions/1127627/disable-beep-sound-when-plugging-unplugging-laptop-chargerhttps://community.acer.com/en/discussion/542769/solved-windows-10-beep-sound-when-pluging-charger-in (question from melv at the end)
And these various solutions do not work:
- no "System speakers" under "System devices"
- nothing shows up in the Volume Mixer when I plug/unplug and the beep occurs
- no BIOS options for Beeps
- drivers are already upgraded
Thank you!
Ben
